π Hi Reader,
Happy Friday!
I wanted to share some of my top finds from the past few weeks again, grouped into these sections:
I didn't include many Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals, because I just haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet, but I hope you can make the most out it :)
As always, I'd really appreciate it if you could share this with anyone who might enjoy this newsletter. Have an awesome weekend and Happy Thanksgiving!

The marquee feature of the Bilt card is earning up to 100k points on rent, but it also earns 3x Dining and 2x Travel and every 1st of the month ("Rent Day") it earns double, so 6x Dining, 4x Travel and 2x on everything else. We don't rent, but what has me wanting to sign up is that they have the best slate of transfer partners (e.g., American, United, Hyatt, Turkish, and as of last week, Marriott) and every 2-3 months they run huge Rent Day transfer bonuses that get as high as 100%-150%, meaning if you transferred 10,000 points you'd end up with 20,000 - 30,000. So despite not renting, I'm probably getting myself (or Amy) a Bilt card soon. If you want to sign up here (my referral link), I'd obviously appreciate it and would encourage you to share your referral link with friends too!
There are two new points tools I've come across recently:
United has launched it's Mile Play promotion, which offers a different mix of bonus miles to every person, but you need to register by Dec 15th to be eligible (and only flights booked after count).
Alaska's Mileage Plan is introducing new changes to its award pricing, including unified saver pricing, global award availability, mixed partner awards, free stopovers, and cumulative distance pricing. The main change is a focus on pricing awards based on the total distance flown, which is great for shorter flights, but not great for long partner flights to destinations like Asia and Australia.
You can now use miles from Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios to book JetBlue flights, including their premium Mint cabin (my fav domestic business class). Check out the Privilege Club website to book flights online, but it looks like you donβt even need to have Avios in your account to check out the availability and pricing. Also, since you can transfer Avois freely between all Avios airlines, you can get your points from every card program to Qatar via British Airways.
Qatar Airways seems to have opened a lot of availability for their luxurious business class, including the renowned QSuites, from numerous US airports to destinations across the Middle East, India, and Southern Asia, including the Maldives. You can find availability using the calendar feature on American Airlines or Qatarβs website or using a tool like Seats.Aeroβ
If don't have a Chase account, they have their best bonus right now for opening a new checking and savings account. You get $300 for Checking (with Direct Deposit), $200 for Savings (with $15k balance) and $400 more if you do both. Learn more here.
There's been talk about a Black Friday deal coming to Sam's Club, where you can buy a Southwest Airlines $500 value e-gift card for $399.99 starting Nov 23rd. I don't have full details but it looks like there might be a max of 5 per membership. Given that you can join Sam's Club for $20, I might end up joining just to take advantage of this.
We're huge fans of our Oura Rings (finally got Amy one last month) and they're having a Black Friday sale for up to $100 off, with all ring styles and colors discounted. The sale starts today, Nov 17th and runs through 27th. Full details here.
Many Chase cardholders are eligible for a $10 or $15 statement credit after spending $100 or $150 on monthly bills, including utilities, internet, cable, phone services, insurance, local transit, commuting, fitness club, or gym membership payments. This is a targeted offer, so check this article to learn how to determine if you're eligible.
Here are a few of the Amex and Chase offers I've seen recently that you might want to add to your card (unless you're using one of my favorite apps CardPointers, which helps add them automatically) and take advantage of. Note that not all cards and cardmembers will have all offers in their account and you may find some amazing ones I didn't have too :)

In many states, including California and Texas, you can appeal your property appraisal, resulting in big savings on property taxes. However the process can be a huge pain. Fortunately I came across Ownwell, which makes the process so easy - they handle everything, from creating an evidence packer to representing you at hearings. There's no upfront cost, but they do take 25% of the savings they get you. I also reached out to them to get All the Hacks subscribers an extra $25 off any of their services!
I thought the Hampton's 2023 Wealth Survey Report was a really interesting read, which dove into the results of a survey to their members about investment strategies, portfolio allocation and more
If you have any upcoming travel and want to make sure you know what to do if anything goes wrong, my latest episode covers essential tips for navigating travel mishaps like flight delays, cancellations, lost luggage, or sold-out accommodations.

Hi Reader, Turns out the majority of our communication is spontaneous. It is rarely planned except for our formal presentations, pitches, or meetings. In the spur-of-the-moment we often feel anxiety because the urgency, desire for precision, and need to adapt to the situation converge simultaneously. Good news! Successful spontaneous speaking, whether it's answering questions, providing feedback, or engaging in small talk, is a skill everyone can refine. I recently spoke with Stanford...
Hello Reader, We've all made our fair share of poor decisions (I know I have), so I want to talk about improving our decision-making. I had the chance to interview Annie Duke (π§Ep 81) at the end of 2022 about changing how you approach your choices. Annie is the author of bestsellers Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts and Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away. Today, weβll get actionable and uncover 10 ways to improve decisions and understand...
Hi Reader, Last year's gift guide was a huge hit, so I wanted to put together a 2023 Gift Guide with over 50 of my favorite products, gifts, past purchases and more. Hopefully some of them might make good ideas for gifts this holiday season. I broke the list into the following sections: π‘ Home & Food π§π§ Tech & Gear π Clothes & Bags π Health & Fitness π¨π©π§π¦ Family & Kids π Books & Learning π° Saving Money When You Shop Unfortunately the list was too long and/or had too many links for email, so...
