๐Ÿ›ซ Travel, Points & Miles

๐Ÿ’ณ Limited-Time $1,000+ Welcome Bonus

The โ€‹Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Cardโ€‹ has a limited-time welcome bonus worth $1,000 (if you leverage transfer partners). Once you spend $4,000 in 3 months, you get 75,000 miles AND a $250 travel credit towards the Capital One Travel portal, which earns 5x miles on hotels and rental cars. Plus, this card earns 2x on everything else, so it's a good everyday card to have.

๐Ÿค‘ Earn 20,000 Bonus Points

Chase is offering a targeted bonus of 20k points if you simply โ€‹enroll in their “Pay Over Time” featureโ€‹—you don’t even need to use it. This feature allows cardholders to pay eligible charges over an extended period with interest. And if you're targeted and earn this bonus, make sure to unenroll from the feature in a few months.

๐Ÿ” Current Transfer Bonuses

If you’re planning a trip and are familiar with the programs, here are transfer bonuses that could help you score a great deal.

๐Ÿ’บ 30% Off Award Flights on TAP + SingaporeAir

Another way you can save on travel is through these deals towards economy and business class flight redemptions.

โ˜• Earn 200 Bonus Marriott Points At Starbucks

If you go to Starbucks regularly, you can earn 200 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points this weekend (until 2/23) when you make at least 2 qualifying purchases of $2+. Make sure to โ€‹link your accounts hereโ€‹ first.

โœˆ๏ธ CapOne and JetBlue Partners Again (But Not Worth It)

Capital One has โ€‹reintroduced its partnership with JetBlueโ€‹, allowing eligible cardholders to transfer their miles to JetBlue TrueBlue at a 5:3 ratio, which is a pretty bad deal. The only exception would be an extremely rare transfer bonus of at least 65% to get close to a 1:1 ratio, which you can currently do through other JetBlue transfer programs.

๐Ÿš• Avoiding Uber's New Fees Abroad

Uber is adding a โ€‹1.5% fee to rides abroadโ€‹ for the convenience of displaying prices in the user's home currency. Users are automatically opted in to this feature, but you can manually opt out: go to your Uber app, go to your wallet, and select "No preferred currency".

๐Ÿค‘ Latest Deals

๐Ÿ†“ Free Hulu, Slurpees, Starbucks and More

A reader emailed me last week (thanks Massi) about wanting to see more freebies in the newsletter (I mean, who doesn’t!). So here are a few I found this week.

๐Ÿ’ธ Brokerage Bonuses Worth Up To $35k

Brokerage bonuses are a great way to maximize your savings, and here are 2 bonuses you can take advantage of right now:

  • โ€‹Moomooโ€‹: A triple stack bonus for new and existing customers who sign up and transfer funds to their account before 3/31. The offer includes a 4% APY on uninvested cash for 90 days, a 3% match on the first ACAT transfer up to $20,000, and 30 free stocks for transferring $2,000 via ACH or wire.
  • โ€‹WeBullโ€‹: Earn a bonus up to $7500 when you transfer your brokerage account to their platform before 2/28, but it does require a $1 million deposit for the highest bonus.

๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ Great Finds

๐Ÿ” AwardWallet’s Merchant Category Lookup Tool

I love AwardWallet for helping keep track of my points and miles, but they also have a cool โ€‹Merchant Category Lookup Toolโ€‹, which shows how transactions are coded by retailers. It’s super handy for figuring out which card to use to maximize your bonus earnings.

๐Ÿ“บ Show Recommendation: Night Agent

I just finished watching season 2 of this show about an FBI agent that gets pulled into a conspiracy involving a mole at the White House. It probably won't win an Emmy, but I really enjoyed it and both seasons are available on โ€‹Netflixโ€‹.
